Let’s face it, to some couples, pets are loved almost just as much as their children. That’s why custody of pets post-divorce or separation is such a hot topic.
This post from Natalie Bogdanski reports on a recent development in California that tackles pet custody. “Under the new law, pets will still be considered community property, but a judge will determine where the pet goes using rules similar to those used in child custody cases. These responsibilities include who feeds them, takes them to the vet, and more,” she writes.
It’s an interesting development that we at Hello Mojo Magazine can truly get behind. It’s an awesome solution to a problem that used to be neglected. We’re excited to see this law proliferate across the world as we all know how pets can help us cope with tragic issues such as a divorce.
